A boy with Down syndrome and his loving big brother
February 15, 2017
Down syndrome is rather common in the U.S, with about 1 in every 700 babies born being affected.
Every cell has 23 pairs of chromosomes and Down syndrome is usually caused by an error in cell division that results in three copies of chromosome 21 instead of the usual two. Children with Down syndrome typically demonstrate developmental and intellectual delays.
The brother in this video is very caring and protective of his younger brother who has Down syndrome. He makes sure that people do not laugh at his brother or say anything unkind to him. Meanwhile, he keeps his brother company and is very considerate of him.
