President Trump to attend Asia summits in November

Vice President Mike Pence announced on April 20 that President Donald Trump would attend three major Asian summits in November.

The vice president said Trump would attend the U.S.-ASEAN summit, the East Asia Summit in the Philippines, as well as the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vietnam.

Vice President Pence is on a 10-day Asia tour. He has been reassuring Asian allies that the Trump administration will seek stronger economic ties despite leaving the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact.
