Homemade bomb explosions in Rome cause no injuries

Two explosions rocked Rome on May 12.

Both seem to have come from the same homemade device.

No one was injured and very little damage was done.

Police think the bomb was based on a plastic liter-bottle filled with gasoline.

It was set off across the street from a fire station.

Police do not think the bomb was the work of terrorists.

“There were two explosions, one small one and one stronger one, we were frightened and ran out of the café,” said Giulia Scalondro who worked in a café next to the blast site.

“We saw high flames and a thick dark cloud straight afterwards.

“We moved closer to look and saw that there was little damage. There was also a lady there, right next to the explosion, but she wasn’t hurt and neither were the cars.”
