Watch How The Most Delicious Chinese Breakfast Food Is Made

Behold the Chinese jianbing. It’s a popular street food commonly eaten for breakfast in northern parts of China. The breakfast crepe is made from a batter of usually wheat, soybeans, or mung beans. The batter is first spread onto a crepe griddle. Then, the street vendor cracks an egg onto the griddle. Next, scallions, hoisin sauce, crispy fried wonton dough, and other accoutrements go in. Finally, the vendor folds the crepe expertly into a rectangle so that the entire thing ends up looking like a sandwich. This dish is simple, yet so gratifying. You might just be able to find jianbing in your local Chinatown!
