Watch This Artist Carve Intricate Designs Into a Watermelon

This is art that is both edible and pretty to look at! Artist Liu Hanming from Chiayi, Taiwan carves incredibly complex patterns into fruits. His canvas of choice is usually a watermelon, where he has plenty of room to carve flowers, hearts, and practically any design under the sun. Watch the video above to see him nimbly carve shapes to his liking with an Exacto knife.

The 25 year old started doing fruit carvings two years ago, according to a news report by SingTao Daily. He regularly hosts classes to teach people how to do fruit carvings, and also makes custom carvings upon request for wedding banquets. His work has attracted lots of local media coverage, and he even won first place at a recent fruit carving contest in Taiwan.
