World’s largest private rose garden opens its gates

The largest private rose garden in the world has opened its gates to the public.

The Roseto Botanico Gianfranco e Carla Fineschi holds over 6,500 species of roses. It’s one of the world’s largest rose collections. It contains ancient and modern types of roses, offering rich resources for plant study.

Located in Italy, roses were an obsession for the owner, an obsession that his family passes on to the public. Today, his three daughters manage the garden.

It’s located in the picturesque Tuscan countryside. Every year it reopens to the public in May, when the roses are in full bloom.
