Sweden stopping Assange rape investigation

Swedish prosecutors ended their seven-year rape investigation of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on May 19.

Assange was accused of rape in 2010, but charges were never filed.

He has lived in the Ecuadorian Embassy in the U.K. since 2012. He fled there to avoid extradition.

Assange, 45, is still wanted by the U.S. for publishing secret documents were stolen by U.S. soldier Chelsea Manning.

Assange could be arrested and extradited on those charges.

The U.K. also has a “failure to appear” warrant for him.
