Gochujang 4 Ways

We love gochujang for its sweet heat on everything from chicken to vegetables. Here are 4 recipes to get you started.

Gochujang-Honey Glazed Shrimp

Ingredients:
• Prawns
• Pineapple
• Gochujang (2 tbsp)
• Hoisin Sauce (1 tbsp)
• Soy Sauce (1 tbsp)
• Sesame Oil (1 tsp)
• Ginger (1 tbsp)
• Garlic (1 tbsp)
• Lemon
• Black Pepper
• Bamboo Skewers
• Gochujang
• Hoisin Sauce
• Soy Sauce
• Sesame Oil

Directions:
1. Soak bamboo skewers in water.
2. Preheat oven at 400°F.
3. Mix in gochujang, ginger, garlic, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
4. Skewer shrimp and pineapple alternatively.
5. Squeeze lemon juice on top and sprinkle pepper to taste.
6. Bake the skewers in the oven for 5 minutes.
7. Glaze the gochujang sauce mix onto the skewers.
8. Bake in the oven for 2 minutes.
9. Sprinkle white sesame and parsley on top.

Spicy Cheese Fire Ramen

Ingredients:
• Instant Noodles (1 packet)
• Chicken Breast (170g)
• Cheddar Cheese (1 cup)
• Iceberg Lettuce (1/2 cup)
• Onion (1/2 cup)
• Butter (2 tbsp)
• Baby Spinach (1 cup)
• Water (250ml)
• Gochujang (1/3 cup)
• Soy Sauce (2 tbsp)
• Honey (1tbsp)
• Salt (1/2tsp)
• White Pepper

Directions:
1. Dice the chicken, slice the lettuce and onions.
2. Heat the pan and put in butter.
3. Cook the chicken and then take it out before completely cooked through.
4. Stir fry the lettuce and onion, add salt & pepper to taste.
5. Add the chicken back into the pan.
6. Add water and wait for it to boil.
7. Add Gochujang, honey, then soy sauce.
8. Add in instant noodles
9. Add in baby spinach.
10. Add cheddar cheese, then put lid on the pan until the cheese melts.

Chicken Lettuce Wrap

Ingredients:
• Chicken Breast (15 oz)
• Red Bell Pepper (1 cup diced)
• Green Bell Pepper (1 cup diced)
• Orange Zest
• Lettuce Wrap
• Cooking Oil (2 tbsp)
• Gochujang (2 tbsp)
• Soy Sauce (2 tbsp)
• Oyster Sauce (3 tbsp)
• Ginger (2 tsp)
• Cooking Wine (1 tbsp)
• Sesame Oil (1 tsp)

Directions:
1. Dice the chicken, cook in pan.
2. Put orange zest in pan with chicken
3. Add in cooking wine, ginger, green & red bell peppers
4. Put in gochujang, oyster sauce, soy sauce
5. Stir fry
6. Add in sesame oil, stir
7. Place in lettuce wrap

Spicy Korean Rice Cakes

• Ingredients:
• Korean rice cake (1 lb)
• Gochujang (1/3 cup)
• Chili Powder (1 tbsp)
• Sugar (1 tbsp)
• Fish Ball (8)
• Scallion (1/2 cup)
• Dried Fish (12)
• Kelp (1)

Directions:
1. Add water into a pan, then place in kelp and dried fish (remove the head).
2. Cook for about 15 minutes, then take out kelp and dried fish.
3. Add gochujang, chili powder, and sugar into the boiling water.
4. Place rice cakes, fish balls, eggs, and scallions into the pan.
5. Cook for 7-8 minutes, then serve.
6. Sprinkle with scallions and sesame seeds.
