A viral video shows two dogs going crazy when they see other dogs on the television.
It’s a common sight for many dog owners.
The video in Alabama shows a phenomenon that researchers say is based on dogs ability to perceive images on TV similar to how humans do. In other words, they recognize the dogs on television as real and also recognize sounds from the TV, such as barking, reported National Geographic.
Dogs have varying personalities and perceptive abilities, though, making their reactions to dogs on TV different, noted Nicholas Dodman, a veterinary behaviorist at Tufts University, in Massachusetts.
“Different dogs, like people, have different personalities,” Dodman said. “Some are territorial, some are not; some like people, some hate people; some are predatory, some aren’t; some are pushy, some are shy.”
