A 93-year-old Cleveland Cavaliers fan was surprised with tickets to her first playoff game.
Nancy Bontempo has been following her favorite team for many years, typically watching games at home in Independence, Ohio. Her favorite player is Lebron James.
“I’d like them to become the big champions, but this would be fine. He’s got enough awards and he’s gracious about it and he does a lot for people. I think it’s wonderful,” she told Fox 8.
She watched her first playoff game in person on Monday night, May 7, after being surprised with tickets.
Her longtime friend Barb Carpenter surprised Bontempo with the tickets, and was going along for the fun.
“I told her she needs to take a nap today because if they sweep we are going out on the town downtown,” said Carpenter before the game. “We’re going to have a couple of drinks if they win.”
The Cavaliers ended up winning and advancing to the Eastern Conference semifinals after sweeping the Toronto Raptors.
