High School Students Use 3D Printer to Help Chicken Walk Again

A chicken that lost her feet can walk again after engineering students at a Michigan high school utilized a 3D printer to print out prosthetic feet for her.

The extracurricular project was undertaken by a group of students at the West Michigan School of Aviation.

The chicken, Debbie, suffered the loss of her feet this past winter after temperatures plunged, owner Rachel Diepstra told WXMI.

She reached out for help on social media and a friend knew an engineering teacher at the high school.

About 20 designs were printed and tested before students settled on the one that worked best.
