15 effective ways to clean your house with less chemicals

If you have trouble cleaning stains on your things at home, here are some smart ways for house cleaning that are sure to come in handy. Easy and effective, they will help you get rid of the stubborn stains and dirt on your clothes, kitchenware and furniture.

It is annoying to see the scorched pans, stained sofa, pet hair on the couch or scratches on leather furniture, etc. Most of them are hard to clean or repair. Sometimes, we feel frustrated cleaning them and most of the time, all we can do is live with those unpleasant stains.

However, we want a clean and hygienic environment. Here are 15 tips to help you clean your house easily and effectively.

1. Clean scorched pans and burnt pots

Pour a cup of vinegar and a cup of water (depending on the size of your pot or pan) in the pan/pot. Bring the mix to a boil. Turn off the stove and add 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Empty the pan/pot after a while and scrub it as usual.

3. Remove burnt foods on baking trays

Wipe your baking tray gently with a paper towel. Pouring boiling water into your sink and add a cup of baking soda. Leave your tray to soak in the sink for one hour. Wipe the tray with a sponge, the crust will come off easily.

4. Clean cloudy glassware

5. Clean coffee & tea stains in cups

Wash your cups as usual. Make a paste of equal quantities of baking soda and water or of white vinegar and salt. Apply either paste on the stained areas using a soft cloth. Let it sit for about one hour. Scrub until the stains disappear.

6. Polish the iron box

7. Remove stains on your sofa

Make a solution of 1 tbsp. soda, 1 tbsp. powder detergent, and 1/3 cup vinegar with some hot water. Rub the solution into the stains or water marks on your sofa and spray some on the dry part as well. Allow it to sit for several hours. Then, vacuum it.

8. Clean pet hair from your couch

To remove pet hair on your couch, run over the couch with your hands in wet rubber gloves. You will then get rid of the pet hair as it will cling to the gloves.

9. Get rid of permanent stains from hardwood floor

Apply a dab of toothpaste to the stain on your hardwood floor. Rub it hard with a wet cloth until the stain is removed.

10. Repair scratches on leather furniture

Rub the scratches on your leather furniture with baby oil, olive oil or saddle oil using a cotton swab or cotton ball. Let the oil dry for one hour and wipe it off with a cloth. If the scratches have not repaired, repeat the procedure with more oil and allow it to sit for a couple of hours.

11. Clean your kitchen sink and make it shine
