20 innovative tricks to use ordinary things in extraordinary ways

When you’re in sore need of a solution to a problem, try using the first object that comes to mind, and surprise, surprise–it might just work!

Simple tools, containers, cutlery and stationery can sometimes be much better for other uses than for what they were originally intended for.  All you need is a little creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. Well, sometimes you don’t even need to be that creative, the thing nearest to hand might just fit the bill.

Here is a list of these kinds of tips and tricks that will surely help you think differently and solve a lot of your little organizational problems.

1. Use a rubber band at the end of your hanger to prevent clothes from slipping off

2. Another good use of a rubber band–place your paint brush against it on the jar

It prevents the brush from falling into the jar of paint. You can also remove excess paint off the brush by moving it over the rubber band.

3. A shower cap to either store or transport a pair of shoes cleanly and conveniently

4. A magnet will hold on to all your small metallic things and is easily accessible

5. You can easily prise open a tight jar cover using a tablespoon or a butter knife

6. Or wrap a rubber band on top of the jar to offer a better grip while opening a tight jar

9. Use an egg carton to store Christmas toys for the next festive season

19. Use aluminum foil to cover things while painting, and to clean glassware

The lead is made of graphite which can conduct small amounts of electricity required to activate the sensors in the touch screen. Make a groove in the pencil as shown above, exposing the lead, and place your finger in the groove. The electricity from your body will be conducted through the exposed graphite and will activate the touch screen.
