If Kansas has a reputation for anything, it is the tornados, cyclones, and twisters that plague the area. Sure, in real life, getting caught up in one probably won’t send you to the merry old land of Oz, but the Sunshine State having big wind-storms is still quite the truth.

The storm captured in the video took place around Dodge City, Kansas. Said to be powerful enough to rip the roof off of a home, the supercell that produced the tornadoes was said to have lasted for over two hours.

According to statistics from Only In Your State, Kansas is only the fourth state to be plagued by the most tornadoes, coming in after Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida. Interestingly enough, the state does not even make the top ten of states that have the most deaths by killer tornadoes. I’m going to assume they don’t include the Wicked Witch of the East in the list of casualties since that happened outside of state-lines…
