The Great Pyramid of Giza: How did 2.3 million massive blocks get moved, cut, and positioned?

Have you ever wondered how the Great Pyramid of Giza was constructed? How an estimated 2.3 million blocks of stone were cut with laser-like precision? And then how these massive blocks were moved and placed into perfect position, allowing not even a gap big enough for a credit card to be squeezed in between? This is one of the great mysteries of all time!

Originally, the Great Pyramid of Giza had an outer casing of white limestone blocks, which was perfectly polished and fitted. For thousands of years, it continued to gleam under the sun.

To this day, this mysterious and marvelous structure remains mostly intact, despite factors such as erosion and the harsh conditions of the desert.

Engineer Christopher Dunn, and author of the book “The Giza Power Plant: Technologies of Ancient Egypt,” wrote: “It goes without saying that if we were to build a Great Pyramid today, we would need a lot of patience. In preparation for his book 5/5/2000 Ice: The Ultimate Disaster, Richard Noone asked Merle Booker, technical director of the Indiana Limestone Institute of America, to prepare a time study of what it would take to quarry, fabricate, and ship enough limestone to duplicate the Great Pyramid.

“Using the most modern quarrying equipment available for cutting, lifting, and transporting the stone, Booker estimated that the present-day Indiana limestone industry would need to triple its output, and it would take the entire industry, which as I have said includes thirty-three quarries, twenty-seven years to fill the order for 131,467,940 cubic feet of stone.5 [sic] These estimates were based on the assumption that production would proceed without problems. Then we would be faced with the task of putting the limestone blocks in place.”

Another mystery of the great pyramid is the fact that it is positioned exactly at the geographical center of the Earth, which suggests that the builders knew a great deal about the geography of our planet. Mind you, the pyramid is also orientated almost perfectly north. But, how could the ancient Egyptians make such precise measurements without any form of aerial view during this time?

Some theorists, however, have come to believe that it would’ve been impossible for humans to build such a precise and complex structure. Hence, the geniuses behind this masterpiece were certainly not from this round of human civilization, but from a prehistoric civilization.

Interestingly, in the recently aired documentary, Egypt’s Great Pyramid: The New Evidence, the ancient Egyptians had apparently used specially designed canals to transport 170,000 tonnes of limestone on wooden boats to an inland port, situated in close proximity to the pyramid.

Archaeologist Mark Lehner is quoted as saying, “We’ve outlined the central canal basin which we think was the primary delivery area to the foot of the Giza Plateau.”

However, according to engineering scientist Dr. Ronald Cutburth, the “failed theory” that predominates the documentary “attempts to show there was no history before the Egypt kings.” Moreover, “The great pyramid is older than 12 thousand years. Proven by the age of the sphynx,” a date that far exceeds the history of The First Dynasty of Egypt, some 5,000 years ago. Dr. Cutburth cites Christopher Dunn and claims, “The giants shown in the carvings build them using advanced machinery.”

So, whilst the recent documentary attempts to shed more light on how the ancient pyramid was built, it seems to have some viewers thinking that we’re no closer to solving the mystery than we were before.
