Dad sees drug dealer 20ft away from son in park. Then next day he puts up a big ‘warning board’

In the event of witnessing a drug deal at a children’s park in your neighborhood, what would you do? This father courageously stood up against it by sending out a strong message.

Jeremiah Fjeld has just moved to a new neighborhood with his family in Virginia Beach, and his 4-year-old-son along with many other children play in a park nearby. One day, when Fjeld received a call from his wife informing him about a drug deal taking place at the park, he knew he had to do something to protect the children.

“The other day I get a call from my wife saying there’s a guy doing a drug deal 20 feet away from my kid at the park in the parking lot right here,” Fjeld told WVEC.

Fjeld, who was not far from home, immediately called the police. He then went to the park and confronted the alleged drug dealer. He grabbed him by his backpack, and told him, “Never come back here again.”

The police arrived but couldn’t do much about the situation as there was no hard proof. So, he stood his stand by placing a stern warning signboard addressed to the drug dealers.

“NO MORE DEALING DRUGS HERE! THIS PARK IS FOR OUR KIDS. WE’VE HAD ENOUGH AND WE’RE TAKING OUR PARK BACK!” Fjeld wrote.

Fjeld isn’t the only one who has had enough with the drug scene near his neighborhood. In fact, after the incident, many neighbors told him they’ve witnessed the drug activity for quite some time.

The first sign was, however, torn down the night it was put up. Fjeld continued his defense. He erected another sign into the ground. This sign was even bigger than the last.

On his Facebook, Fjeld wrote he managed to find the drug dealer whom he had confronted. That day, the drug dealer was hanging out with his buddies in the garage. Fjeld yelled at him and made a big scene.

“ … when I started making a big scene the guy who I confronted yesterday came out to the street and apologized to me,” Fjeld wrote, as MiamiHerald reported. “He told me he would never come back over there again…”

Fjeld was taking this issue seriously as he knew how drug can ruin a person’s life.

“In my 20’s, I knew what it was like to be in the drug scene and to be the bad guy so I was on the other side of the tracks,” he said. “You might as well say something now because eventually, they’ll end up in prison or dead and it’s too late then.”
