India’s first DJ in a wheelchair proves you can lose anything but not your passion!

‘For a person who is determined to reach his goals, flaws are never a barrier’. Proving this quote, Varun Khullar fought against all odds to become a successful DJ in spite of being in a traumatic accident and injuring his spinal cord. When he religiously dedicated his life and time for music, being paralyzed didn’t matter to him. His amazing transformation and his positivity will surely inspire you!

In 2014, Varun and his friends set out on an exciting road trip to Manali. As they were travelling, they encountered a truck which made them take a diversion and fall 25 feet down into a mountain shaft. The next thing he could remember was being admitted to a hospital with a horrible spinal cord injury.

Varun loved travelling and visiting hilly areas. His dream to pursue music remained on hold due to societal pressure. However, life drastically changed for Varun with this tragic accident but he utilized it for his best.

He started off learning music at home for 2 years and then he began his experimentation. There were many music schools that rejected him because of his physical condition. Fortunately, ILM Academy in Delhi gave him admission to pursue his dream to become a DJ.

This was not the end to his struggles. The real world gave him much more hardships. He approached various clubs in Delhi and was rejected. At times his situation was so horrible that these clubs asked him to be a DJ for free.

All these aspects only boosted Varun to grow stronger than ever. His career kick-started when he got his first show at one of the top hotels in Delhi and then his success became massive and he was famously known as the ‘DJ on a wheelchair!’

After such downfalls and tragic incidents, Varun remained positive. He never saw sitting in a wheelchair as his failure but the strength he possessed for a bigger platform. He is now popularly known as DJ Aamish and is immensely appreciated for his endurance!
