Report: Police Respond to the Home of Harvey Weinstein’s Daughter Over ‘Suicide Threat’

The daughter of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, accused by actresses and models of decades of sexual misconduct, called 911 on him.

She said that Weinstein “was suicidal,” TMZ said in a Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 11,  report.

“Weinstein was at his 22-year-old daughter Remy’s place when their argument spilled out onto the street,” the report stated.

He told her: “You’re making it worse” before he flagged a random vehicle and begged for a ride, TMZ reported. Then, apparently, Remy was able to convince her father to go inside.

The Los Angeles Police Department and a security company showed up to her home, with sources telling TMZ that she called and said her father was “suicidal and depressed.” When they arrived, his daughter said that it was a family dispute and Weinstein had left the house.

The website reported that he’s leaving Los Angeles for a rehab center.

This week, The Weinstein Company fired co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein after reports of sexual harassment allegations surfaced against the executive.

The board of directors made the decision “in light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days,” the company said in an emailed statement, adding that he had been notified, Reuters reported.

Weinstein has produced or distributed Oscar-winning movies including “Shakespeare in Love” and “Chicago.” He was a prominent donor to the Democrats during the 2016 general election campaign.

The company also said it was conducting its own internal investigation.

Weinstein’s firing from the company he co-founded is likely the final cut on his Hollywood career. Many in the industry believe his days of making movies are over.

Reuters contributed to this report.
