Cause of Death for ‘Shiloh’ Child Star Blake Heron Is Revealed

By Epoch Newsroom

The cause of death of former child star Blake Heron, who died at the age of 35 in September, has been released, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

The office said that Heron died in an accidental manner. It said, however, that the “effects of multiple drugs” caused his death.

Heron was known for his role as Marty Preston in the 1996 family movie “Shiloh.” But he also appeared in “Tom and Huck,” HBO’s “Cheaters,” “We Were Soldiers,” and “Dandelion.”

The Blast later reported that Heron had the drug fentanyl in his system, adding that he overdosed. Fentanyl also contributed to the causes of deaths of singers Prince and Tom Petty.

Heron told Deadline Hollywood last year that he’s long battled his addiction to heroin. In the interview, he was promoting the film “A Thousand Junkies.”

“It was easy to get into character, but it was also at certain points kind of rough, revisiting that frame of mind, and lifestyle …. The film portrays us—the way we used to be—pretty accurately, so to revisit that sometimes was a little bit of a bummer, but I had a blast doing the movie,” he told the website.

TMZ reported at the time of his death, Heron recently had got out of rehab and was sick.
