Sydney Man Plays Chicken With Huge Spider

By Janita Kan

A Sydney man was given a shock when he was filming a large huntsman spider crawling along his wall.

Leroy Horton from Bondi thought it would be fun to play chicken with the critter.

“Alright, let’s play a game,” Horton said in the video.

“It’s called: who’s got bigger [omitted]?”

He then starts edging towards the spider with his hand out in front of him.

“Who’s going to go first?” he asked in the video.

At that moment, the spider then leaps off the wall onto his hand sending Horton into a screaming frenzy.

Eventually, Horton laughs off his silly behaviour.

The video was posted on Facebook on Feb. 12 and has since received over 4,100 views.

Many social media users were amused by his reaction.

“This one didn’t end up in your mouth,” one user commented.

“I nearly just jumped off my chair — you’re a madman,” another user said.

In another similar spider encounter, a mother from Victoria, Australia, found a huge huntsman spider hiding behind a toilet roll in her bathroom.

“I wasn’t really expecting a spider, so I did freak out a bit. I’d rather just burn the whole bathroom down than deal with that,” she told MetroUK.

The mother of five added, “I was thinking, oh my god — imagine if you had sat down and went to grab some paper and that came jumping out at you.”

“You’d be traumatized forever,” she quipped.

NTD Reporter Bowen Xiao contributed to this report.
