Park Ranger Rescues Baby Swan Trapped in Fishing Wire

A park ranger came to the rescue of a baby swan trapped in fishing wire at a Canberra park, as seen in this video posted to Facebook on April 11.

The squeaking cygnet cried in pain and frustration as its parents watched helplessly before the ranger approached the trio and freed the distressed creature.

ACT Parks and Conservation Service reminded people in their post not to leave loose fishing line or hooks in waterways.

“This little critter was lucky, but not all of our wildlife get the helping hand they need when this happens. Please don’t leave loose fishing line or hooks in our waterways,” the post read.
