Oscar-Winning Director of ‘Cuckoo’s Nest’ and ‘Amadeus’, Dies at 86

Milos Forman, the Czech-born movie director, has died at the age of 86.

Forman is known for his Oscar-winning classics “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and “Amadeus.”

Forman was born in the Czech town of Caslav.

He moved to the U.S. in 1968 after a Communist crackdown and became a U.S. citizen in the 1970s.

His movie legacy earned him 13 Oscar awards, including those for best director, and a nomination for an Academy Award.
