SpaceX achieved a major accomplishment after launching its Falcon 9 rocket on June 4.
The two-stage rocket, topped with a commercial communications satellite, lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida just after midnight.
The major accomplishment was a success because of the rocket’s reusability, after the launcher’s first stage was used initially in September 2017 to launch a U.S. Air Force robotic space plane, reported Space.
After the launch, the first stage returned to Earth for a pinpoint landing so that it could be reused.
SpaceX, headed by Tesla’s Elon Musk, has now re-flown Falcon 9 first stages 13 times and landed the boosters over two dozen times.
