Woman Drops Bombshell on Popular TV Show Host, Show Suspended

By Jack Phillips

Ayissha Morgan, a woman who appeared on the fourth season of MTV’s popular series “Catfish,” has accused show creator and host, Nev Schulman and another member of the crew of sexual misconduct.

Morgan’s allegations came to light in May after she posted three YouTube videos detailing what she claims happened during her time filming the show.

Morgan has said she has filed two police reports with the Houston Police Department, according to reports.

Morgan confirmed to The Blast that she filed the reports “or what happened during my participation on the show,” filing it with the Special Crimes Division.

She told the website: “I have provided them with my statement and detailed accounts of what I went through.” She added: “I ask that you please respect my privacy moving forward and allow those who are handling the investigation do so without interference.”

During the filming of the show, she alleges, a female staffer gave her alcohol, and she was taken advantage of. She said that Schulman was inappropriate with her the next day.

She later told The Blast: “I want to thank all of those who have shown me support and gave me validation throughout the last few weeks in sharing my story. I was fortunate to be able to speak up as an individual through social media and I am thankful to those who listened,” added, “I felt empowered to do something about it.”

Schulman has denied the allegations.

Schulman stated: “The behavior described in this video did not happen and I’m fortunate that there are a number of former colleagues who were present during this time period who are willing to speak up with the truth. I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions—but these claims are false,” The Daily Beast reported.

MTV has since suspended production of the show amid the investigation into her claims.

A spokesperson said, “We take these allegations very seriously. We’re working with Critical Content, our third party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation, and we’ve put a pause on shooting until the investigation is completed,” according to The Daily Beast.
