A top official posted a “late note” for Washington Capitals fans to use if they ended up late to work because they stayed up later then usual on Thursday night watching the Capitals win the Stanley Cup.
Washington Deputy Mayor Kevin Donahue posted the “late note excuse” on Twitter early Friday morning.
“Dear Employer, please excuse ‘your name here’ for being late to work today,” the note said.
“Due to the #ALLCAPS victory last night-your valued employee was Rocking the Red and being DCProud well past a reasonable hour. This was a one-time lateness and won’t happen again. Sincerely, The DC Government.”
