A Labor of Love to Support the President

ROCHESTER, Minn.—A mechanical engineer named Will traveled four hours from Wisconsin to share his handmade signs with Minnesotans who were lining up for the Make America Great Again rally on Oct. 4.

He said he did it to show support for President Donald Trump, who he says is, “the best president ever.”

“I just love Trump. He’s the best president of my lifetime—maybe history,” he said. “I think it’s providential that he’s in the White House to begin with. I have special thankfulness for that.”

Will, 67, had a selection of signs with him, including ones about Hillary Clinton and TV network CNN.

“It’s too bad what’s happening with the media,” he said. “They’re about as evil as you can get.”

The rally is a new venture for him. Usually, he goes to overpass bridges on the freeways in Wisconsin to share his signs with the masses. It depends on the weather and the wind—but “if the weather is good, I could go out almost any time,” he said.

Will, who declined to share his surname, said he gets a lot of honks when people see his signs, “Oh yeah, they love it. It’s really fun, I can tell ya.”

The sign he was holding at the rally was one of his first and took him about three days to hand-paint, he said. Earlier, he was holding his ‘God Bless America’ sign.

“I’m getting better at it,” he said. “I’ve got a small collection now. I’ve got a couple Hillary ones, you know.”

He said Trump is great for Christian conservatives.

“I figured almighty God had something to do with Trump getting in here. And I’m just so thankful of that,” he said. “I do this because I know he’s not going to be around forever. I want to enjoy it, every minute while I can. That’s how I feel, I feel really strong about that.”
