Mystery behind Easter Island statues’ red hats ‘solved,’ they were clever people

There are many secrets about the Easter Island statues, known as the “Moai.” This video illustrates the most recently accepted theory as to how the massive stones were placed on top of their heads thousands of years ago.

How does one go about placing a 10-ton stone topper atop a 10 meter-tall statue without a crane? Moreover, they average around 6.5 feet (2 m) in diameter each.

In fact, the very same technique used today works even to turn around a capsized ship.

“The mystery of the red hats worn by Easter Island statues has been solved,” the video claims.

Watch the video to discover the clever trick the Polynesian natives are said to have employed back in the day.
